Shoutout to Founders Games Success Stories #2

Part of celebrating our achievements is honouring the success stories of the Founders Games participants.

Founders Games mission is to identify, endorse as role models and support high growth companies and founders leading the way to achieving the SDGs by creating successful, scalable, sustainable and resilient business ventures. Here is part #2 of our recognition shout out series to the achievements of the Founders Games finalists and particularly for EcoTree just a few months after becoming a finalist at the 2022 summer edition 🤘:

EcoTree pioneering nature-based solutions in Europe

Certified B-corp in 2021, the French climate-tech EcoTree has successfully raised €12 million in June 2022 to help its journey towards becoming the leading European Nature-Based Solutions provider. In this Series B round, EcoTree has welcomed investment from new partners such as Société Générale Ventures (lead investor), Financière Fonds Privés and Famae Impact.

Building on existing in-house expertise and an established pan-European commercial and operational network, EcoTree will use thе funding to further establish its status as an emerging and pioneering nature-based solutions provider in Europe. The funds will provide current and future clients even greater access to sustainable forests that remove carbon, promote biodiversity and generate economic returns. EcoTree will also increase its range of alternative carbon removals (biochar, peatlands, etc.) and biodiversity solutions (agroforestry, wetlands restoration, beehives, etc.).

With foundations laid in France, Denmark, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands, EcoTree will continue to expand commercially across Europe by investing in new nature projects across the continent, and marketing and communications in new national markets (such as the DACH region). EcoTree will also continue to invest in scientific research and technology to provide cutting-edge solutions to individuals and firms, and for corporate clients specifically to fully leverage the impact of their environmental and ESG initiatives with EcoTree.

Throughout 2022, EcoTree's impact has been praised through various awards and prizes, such as the "EY Entrepreneur of the Year" award in France and a finalist seat at the "Mastercard Lighthouse Massiv" startup competition in the Nordics. EcoTree has also been invited to the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos in January 2023, as part of the 10 "Top Innovators" delegation from the "1 Trillion Trees" initiative (1t.org).
